Sights in the Vinschgau: excursions from Prämajur
The sights of the Vinschgau lie close together from our house in Prämajur: a lake with a church tower, a town with its whole wall, abbeys, castles, mountain lakes and the path to the Uina Gorge. Churburg Castle in Schluderns
A trip to another era: Churburg is one of the best-preserved castles in South Tyrol and is known for its armoury with 50 fully preserved suits of armour. Knights' tournaments take place once a year.
Messner Mountain Museum Juval
The castle at the entrance to the Schnals valley is owned by Reinhold Messner and houses a winery, an organic farm, a rustic inn and a museum. Among the collections are Messner's mask collection from five continents, a Tibetan collection and the expedition cellar.
Nature and culture
Waal paths in the Vinschgau: Waal paths are walking routes along old irrigation channels. They have hardly any gradients, are especially suited to family outings and can be walked all year round.
Marienberg Abbey: a place of peace and strength. The museum in the renovated building gives an insight into the 900-year history of the Benedictine abbey and the monks' daily life.
Naturatrafoi: the national park house of the Stelvio National Park shows what it means for flora and fauna to survive in the high mountains.
Aquaprad: the national park house with numerous aquariums and display boards on life in mountain waters; through the large panoramic windows in the basement it can be experienced up close.
